Nashville, Tenn. - When the American Red Cross issued a plea to donate blood last February to replenish the city's quarantined blood supply, Crye-Leike of Nashville, Inc. was inspired to organize their first company blood drive in March.

Crye-Leike's efforts proved worthwhile and exceeded its expectations, says Joyce Friedman, Crye-Leike's public relations director. "The American Red Cross issued a goal of 60 pints for our company, based on our employee size. We collected 78 pints of blood, with 22 from first-time donors; not so bad for our first time."

"The American Red Cross made it very easy to donate by providing us with simple directions to follow in organizing a corporate blood drive. The whole donor process ran very smoothly with no interruptions during a normal business day at our corporate offices."
