President Obama says he's trying to help struggling homeowners by lowering their mortgage payments.
But the proposed change for a selection of homeowners facing foreclosure is getting mixed reviews.
The President's plan gives those who owe more than their home is worth and have a mortgage from Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae the chance to get cheaper refinancing rates without jumping through as many hoops.
The owners must be making their monthly payments.

Smyrna Agents Invite The Public To Lunch To Cook Up Some Money For Charity
SMYRNA, TN.- Realtors in Crye-Leike's Smyrna office are continuing their tradition of hosting a chili cook-off fundraiser this fall. This will be their eighth year to organize the event and proceeds from this year's luncheon will benefit the North Rutherford County YMCA's Restore Ministries Program.
"For our office and agents, this is our big fundraiser for the year, and a delicious one at that," said Richcreek. "It allows the agents to come together as an office and raise money for a great cause within the community. This year's benefactor of the chili cook-off is a great program that truly helps people within the community in a variety of ways. We feel the North Rutherford County YMCA's Restore Ministries Program is a very deserving recipient of the funds that we will raise this year."

MT. JULIET, TN.- Crye-Leike, Realtors in Mt. Juliet invite the public to their 8th annual Martin Cummings Sweet Tooth Auction with all proceeds benefiting the Mt. Juliet Help Center and the Senior Center.
The agents will put on their chef hats and bake up lots of sweet treats for guests to bid on. They will be auctioning off all kinds of pies, cakes, cookies, and lots of other sweet tooth items.
As they do each year, the Realtors personally invite the public to join them for this fun event and fundraiser. This year's auction will be held on Tuesday, October 11, at the Crye-Leike Mt.
