Tennessee's own Crye-Leike Inc. was recently ranked among the nation's top 10 residential real estate brokerage firms, according to REAL Trends Magazine, a publication for residential real estate industry executives. Its nationwide study, entitled the REAL Trends 500 Report, surveys the 500 largest residential real estate firms in the United States and ranks them by closed transaction sides and closed sales volume. The survey, which includes all firms regardless of affiliation or ownership, represents the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on leaders in the residential brokerage industry.
Crye-Leike, Inc. ranked No. 10 in the nation, a three-notch move upward from last year's No. 13 ranking, closing 23,231 transaction sides in 1999 with 46 offices.
As a privately owned and independent real estate firm, Crye-Leike also ranked No. 3 in the nation among the 161 largest privately owned independent real estate companies.

Memphis, Tenn. - Crye-Leike Inc. recently completed a two-story 7,200 square foot expansion of its existing 15,000 square foot office building at 894 Germantown Parkway in Cordova, Tennessee. This original Crye-Leike Office Building was built in 1988 to accommodate Crye-Leike's Cordova branch office.
The second floor of the Crye-Leike Office Building houses Crye-Leike, REALTOR?'s Cordova branch office. The 3,600 square feet added to this floor will accommodate up to 116 sales associates. The existing office space was remodeled in September 1999.
"The addition features 14 new private offices for Crye-Leike sales associates who attain $2.5 million in sales for the year as well as 14 semi-private office spaces," said Hank Hogue, vice president and managing broker of Crye-Leike's Cordova office.

Brentwood, Tennessee - What started as a simple transaction for Crye-Leike Commercial & Property Management to assist an out-of-town home owner in leasing his Brentwood house has led to plans for the revitalization of Lebanon's oldest industrial landmark, Tennessee Woolen Mills.
The 90-year-old mill, owned by Pillowtex of Dallas, Texas, was sold to Michael Echevarria, a Brentwood businessman and labor consultant who helps keep companies union-free, on May 17, 2000 for $600,000. The Wilson County property, located at 218 North Maple Street, was valued at over $1 million. Echevarria plans to convert the mill's 200,000 square-feet of usable space into a unique shopping and entertainment complex, called The Mill at Lebanon, Tenn., that will house eclectic retail shops, restaurants and offices as well as community events for a wide range of interests and ages.

Crye-Leike Relocation Services recently received seven member achievement awards from RELO, the largest relocation referral network of leading independent real estate firms in the United States.
Crye- Leike Relocation Services of Nashville and Crye-Leike Relocation Services of Memphis both received Awards of Excellence for exceeding the network's referral performance standards in successfully closing real estate transactions outside of Crye-Leike's service area. They also were recognized as one of the top 50 real estate companies in the United States to close outgoing referrals, out of the 1,000 member RELO companies.
Additionally, Crye-Leike Relocation Services of Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville all were inducted into RELO's 1999 Million Dollar Club for sending or closing a minimum $1 million referral from the RELO Network.

Chattanooga, Tenn. - Crye-Leike, Realtors, the largest real estate company in Tennessee and the Midsouth, continues to expand in the Greater Chattanooga and North Georgia areas since it first entered Chattanooga's real estate market in December 1997. Two office plazas, both to be called Crye-Leike Plaza, are currently under construction in Cleveland, Tennessee and Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Together, these two projects represent an estimated $4 million and 37,400 square feet in new construction.
