COLUMBIA, TN., - With more than four years of experience helping buyers and sellers in real estate sales, Affiliate Broker Ken Banks would be the first to consider himself a relative newcomer.  But from the looks of his rapid accession among his peers in Southern Middle Tennessee, Ken might just agree he's taken well to the business.

"After losing a career job after eleven years in another field, I went full time with Crye-Leike just two years ago," said Banks.  Taking on new beginnings in real estate during such economically turbulent times proved challenging, and to be honored in this way is invigorating.

At this year's annual Southern Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors (SMTAR) dinner celebration and awards ceremony - Banks was honored with the President's Award.  It's one of the highest honors bestowed on an associate by the regional...

ATHENS, AL., - Before the clock runs out on 2009, more than two dozen real estate agents in North Alabama will have transitioned their property listings and homebuyers to Crye-Leike, REALTORS. In December the company acquired the real estate sales operations of Alabama Realty Group and its sales center locations in Athens and Ardmore Alabama.

"When we first started studying the Greater Huntsville market two years ago, we knew we wanted to open an office in the Athens/Ardmore area because of its great growth potential," said Harold Crye, Crye-Leike, REALTORS Cofounder & CEO.  "To be able to partner with a great company like Alabama Realty Group is very exciting to us."

The Chattanooga Board of Realtors this week released figures for November showing some improvement in the housing market.

Is it time for you to buy or sell?

If you're planning to buy a home in 2010, you'll pay about 8-thousand more than last yea. The median price of a home in the Chattanooga-Hamilton county are has jumped from 121-thousand to 129-thousand.

But if you factor in the extended 8-thousand dollar federal tax credit, and the 4-to-5 percent mortgage rate, 2010 may be your year.

KATHY TUCKER, PRES. Of MLS "You know there's a consumer confidence problem out there with unemployment as high as it is and so forth, but I really and truly believe once we're through the holidays that it's a perfect time for a first time home-buyer."

MLS is the multiple list...
